Steps to check for student understanding
- Teacher will do frequent comprehension checks in the form of Classroom Assessment Techniques (thumbs up, thumbs down; exit slip in the form of post-it note summary)
- This module will include a heavy amount of independent work and research. The teacher will act as a facilitator but will also benefit from research and contribution to the assets list that will be created throughout this unit for future use.
FLOW OF LESSON
- Suggested bell ringer: If you bottled yourself and marketed you, what would you be and what would you be called?
- Teacher will present the PowerPoint.
- Teacher will assign the Brand Yourself assignment and allow the students to begin working on it in class.
- BE PREPARED – the actual work that needs to be done might take more than one day… they are being asked to prepare a poll. An online poll such as Google forms or SurveyMonkey will help speed up the process.
- Students should be prepared to share their work the next day and should begiven time to distribute posters.
WRAPPING IT UP
- Exit slip: Do you feel that modern social media has made young people better communicators? Why or why not?
